Chapter 44 is the chapter of the manga Cardcaptor Sakura, forming part of Volume 11.
Synopsis
Sakura asks what she has to do to wake everyone up. Eriol answers that she has to dispel the darkness by breaking his spell, using her magic (the one with which she transformed the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards).
Kerochan says that it is impossible for Sakura at this time, and Sakura thinks she is not capable of it. Spinel Sun attacks Sakura to tease her, but Kerberos protects her.
Touya is also asleep, and Yue tells Sakura that he is asleep because he gave his magic to Yukito.
Eriol and Yue are face to face for the second time, and Yue asks why Clow had a new master chosen if he knew he would be reborn.
Ruby Moon intervenes, but is stopped by Yue. She teases him by saying that even though Yue took Touya's magical strength, she is still weak.
Sakura asks Syaoran to take care of Tomoyo and Touya. Sakura wants an explanation from Eriol: why is he acting like this?
Eriol says that to get the answer he must break the spell. He uses and transforms The Shield, The Watery, The Jump, The Windy cards, but the last 2 cards, The Dark and The Light, still need to be transformed together.
Sakura has little power to transform them. The guardians explain to her that they can fuse with the scepter to give her the magical power needed to transform both cards at the same time. If Sakura breaks the spell, the guardians will reunite with her. The guardians fuse with the scepter, which transforms into the most powerful form of the star staff. Syaoran also helps her, and she manages to transform both cards, invoking The Light that dissolves Eriol's spell.
"It's finally over" says Eriol.
Sakura also summons The Dark, since the meeting took place at night.
The chapter ends with Sakura and the guardians demanding answers from Eriol. Sakura turns around abruptly.
